Czech Tourist Club opened a nature trail passing “Ostrava Volcano” – Ema Slag-Heap
Ostrava (24 April 2010) – Today, the Moravian-Silesian Section of the Czech Tourist Club opened a nature trail, which took, already the first day, hundreds of visitors to one of the most mysterious locations of Ostrava – Ema Slag-Heap. The nature trail, built by the Czech Tourist Club thanks to the OKD Foundation grant and supports provided by other partners, is lined with a total of 12 information boards, describing places of historical, natural and technical interest in the area. ... more »
Non-profit organisations have sent a record number of 966 projects to the OKD Foundation
Ostrava (April 16, 2010) – In this year’s round of grants, the OKD Foundation accepted 966 projects entered by non-profit organisations, municipalities and other applicants. Last year, there were only 750 of them. “This shows that the financial and economic crisis affected non-profit organisations just as the economy. Ostrava (15 February 2010) – Today, the OKD Foundation has started to receive projects for the next grant round, where it will distribute CZK 20 million among non-profit-making organizations, and also villages or towns. Approximately 80 per cent of the total amount is designed to support the North-Moravian Projects, and organizations from other regions or large nationwide projects may strive for the remaining 20 per cent. For the first time, the applicants do not have to send their projects by mail, and they will enter them through a special Internet application directly into OKD Foundation’s Grantys system. ... more »

OSTRAVA (November 23, 2009) – Today, in the compressor plant of the Mining Museum in Ostrava, the OKD Foundation announced the results of the first year of the competition for the OKD Foundation Prizes.
