Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen are finishing the Meeting Garden construction
26.08.2010KYJOVICE – Opava Region, (26 August 2010) – For this Saturday, the Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen, Civil Association is already preparing the seventh voluntary work event organized within a voluntary work scheme under which the Kyjovice residents modify an originally untreated area into a nice land which will serve all the village people. The transformation of the previously unused land into the “Meeting Garden”, which has been designed by the village residents themselves during their meetings with an architect, is financed by the Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen, Civil Association through the grants provided by the OKD Foundation, Czech Savings Bank Foundation, as well as thanks to other partners’ help.
“We have already completed much work. This time, we will be assembling benches, will fix acacia tree trunks to the gym wall, will complete mineral concrete and will pave it with pebbles. The work on the first section of our Meeting Garden will thus near its end,” Jana Červenková, Civil Association Chairwoman specified the work progress.
After the Project is fully completed, the Meeting Garden will include a garden pavilion with a fireplace, two playgrounds – one for small children and the other one for older children, and a climbing wall on the outdoor wall of the gym.
The Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen, Civil Association was established in early 2009 with a view to stir the backwater of the social and cultural life in the village of Kyjovice. The Civil Association makes efforts to engage the Kyjovice residents in cultural events, and at the same time, to strengthen their fellow-feeling.
