About the Programme

Culture, education and leisure time rank among the important areas supported by the OKD Foundation. It also backs publicly beneficial projects in cultural society. The foundation, moreover, is also concentrating on providing support for local traditions and the development of solidarity in the region where it operates. The maintenance and development of local and mining traditions contributes to both the strengthening of residents’ sense of belonging in the region and the enhancement of the awareness of the whole area and its unmistakable character in the eyes of visitors. Through its grants, the OKD Foundation also wants to participate in improving and developing education levels in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The OKD Foundation also contributes to regional development with extensive support for leisure and cultural activities. In this area, the OKD Foundation particularly focuses on children and youths whose capabilities are limited for various reasons. It mostly covers projects which could not be implemented without a sponsor’s grants.
