KYJOVICE – Opava Region, (26 August 2010) – For this Saturday, the Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen, Civil Association is already preparing the seventh voluntary work event organized within a voluntary work scheme under which the Kyjovice residents modify an originally untreated area into a nice land which will serve all the village people. The transformation of the previously unused land into the “Meeting Garden”, which has been designed by the village residents themselves during their meetings with an architect, is financed by the Kyjovice Fellow Countrymen, Civil Association through the grants provided by the OKD Foundation, Czech Savings Bank Foundation, as well as thanks to other partners’ help. ... more >
This year is going to be the jubilee, already the fifth year when a volunteer workcamp, featuring really a varied composition, will work on saving a romantic little mountain cemetery in Česká Ves in the Krnov Region. Apart from young Czech people, as well as retired female volunteers, who participate in this event every year, Michael Maringer (39), a representative of the Austrian Ministry of Environment, and Mayada Elhissy (25), an Egyptian woman, will also come. ... more >
The holidays are here! To most people from the non-profit-making sector, the holidays do not mean just the vacation time, but mainly the culmination of their year-long activities – summer camps, festivals, outdoor events... Many of such events have been supported by the OKD Foundation, and for example, I can mention the charitable festival in Orlová and “Footpads from Drakov” Forest Festival held near Vrbno pod Pradědem.
