How do you apply for a grant?
Who is entitled to apply for a grant?
A) Legal entities, having their registered office in the territory of the Czech Republic – foundations, endowment funds, civil associations, publicly beneficial companies, religious companies and registered churches and other non-entrepreneurial entities (regional authorities, municipalities, governmental organisation units)
- to finance science and education, research and development purposes,
- culture,
- educational system,
- to support and protect the youth,
- social purposes,
- medical purposes,
- environmental purposes,
- humanitarian purposes,
- charitable purposes,
- religious purposes – for registered churches and religious companies,
- sports.
B) Natural persons residing in the territory of the Czech Republic and operating educational or medical facilities.
The following persons and entities are not entitled to apply for a grant:
- business entities (for example, limited liability companies, joint-stock companies),
- persons running their business based on a trade license,
- natural persons, except for the persons set out in Section A.
Conditions for Providing the Foundation Grant:
- The Applicant may apply for a foundation grant by completing the form “Application for a Foundation Grant”, (hereinafter referred to as the “Application”), which relates to an announced grant topic, including required attachments to the Application.
- The OKD Foundation receives the Applications in the period between the date of invitation to file Applications and the published closing date.
- The Applicant may file more than one project within the grant procedure, provided that each project is submitted on a separate form.
- In receiving a new Application, the post stamp date or the date of personal delivery to the OKD Foundation seat is the determining date. Any project submitted after the submission closing date will be eliminated from the grant assessment process.
- Any Applicant may supplement their project by, for example, a recommendation of its partnership organisation or a governmental authority or a local authority. It is also appropriate to attach an Annual Report or Activity Report for the last period.
- Any Application, meeting formal and objective requirements, will be submitted to the Managing Board for assessment. Incomplete Applications and Applications failing to correspond to the grant area will be eliminated.
- It is the Managing Board of the OKD Foundation that decides on the provision of foundation grants.
- Any decision of the Managing Board is final and it is not possible to appeal against it. There is no legal entitlement to the obtaining of a grant.
- The OKD Foundation and the grant user enter into a Foundation Grant Agreement, which must, among other items, specify the provided grant amount and conditions under which the foundation grant may be used.
- The Managing Board of the OKD Foundation regularly informs both the sponsors and the public about the legal entities and natural persons who have been provided with OKD Foundation grants, specific grant purposes and the manner of use attached to each grant.
The grant procedure does not apply to:
- projects completed prior to the grant procedure announcement;
- projects which cannot be initiated within 12 months;
- loan and leasing settlement;
- redistribution of funds to further organisations;
- any proposal to pay any debt, receivable with grant money etc. This is not possible.
